The upcoming video game Aliens: Colonial Marines, based on the Alien franchise, currently has no female player character options. With several months to go before release, a petition has been started to advocate for at least one female character to play in a game based on a franchise well-known for its female protagonists. – Angela
This Monday, Lamentations of the Flame Princess launched the July Grand Adventures Campaign, featuring 19 LotFP modules, each up for funding separately on IndieGoGo. The site has a full breakdown of all the modules, but I’d like to give a shout-out to those authored by women:
- Anna Kreider’s We Who Are Lost
- Cynthia Celeste Miller’s The Land That Exuded Evil
- Jennifer Steen’s The Depths of Paranoia
And on Kickstarter, there’s two other campaigns authored by excellent women which are worth mentioning:
- Jennifer Steen’sProject Ninja Panda Taco
- Lillian Cohen-Moore’s Guide to the Village by the Sea
Go forth and spend all your moneys on these awesome ladies. – Giulia
- Yes! Again! After mentioning Jenn in TWIF as well, I feel like I should just rename this week’s installment “This Week about Jenn”
